For the past 13 years I have worked in Government and Non-profit as an advocate for people who suffer from chronic homelessness. It was in 2020, when I began working for a company and was given an ultimatum that I just didn't agree with. So I decided that moving forward every dime I made would be for me. Its like my alarm clock rang and I walked away from a 6 figure job to work for myself. Brown's Urban & Bougie was created for everyone that knows how to navigate in any environment whether it be a corporate boardroom or the most blighted area in town. And they will smell fucking amazing wherever or whatever they are doing. I have been creating fragrances for the past 6 years and it has always been my passion. Being alone in my lab building scents gives the feeling of completeness.. almost zen-like. I have been in love with fragrance since a little girl, whether it was the Jean Nate' that my grandmother wore, the Shalimar that my mom adored, or even the Stetson Cologne that my dad got every year for Christmas. I remember my very first perfume set. It was the Vanilla Fields Coty with the Perfume powder and spray. It was my first signature scent. I think I wore it through most of the 90's. Fragrance truly has a connection to who you are and your memories. I have had clients ask for custom fragrances that help preserve these memories whether it be recreating the smell of a baby blanket or the mixture of tobacco and whiskey from relative that is no longer in this realm.
