We believe that keeping your standards high, saves you from having low value experiences.

Our Mission
Giving young Black and Brown girls ages 12-17 the tools and resources to set and achieve their current and future goals, become self sufficient, and prioritize self-care.
Bougie Girl Brunch
Once a month all girls are brought together for Bougie Girl Brunch where they are surrounded with food, love, and friendship. This is followed by meditation in nature and a new monthly mantra.
Bougie Girl Ball
This is our annual Spring Formal Event with live entertainment and fine dining. It gives our young ladies s a chance to discuss their successes to our donors and gives prospective donors a glimpse into the impact this program has. During this event, scholarships in the amount of $1000 are given to our 17 year old participants, as this would be their last year and they may use towards education or entrepreneurial purposes.
Weekly Mentoring Sessions
With weekly mentor check-ins are face-to -face or through zoom meetings. These meetings consist of an open, judgement-free conversation about their goals, problems, successes, and weekly mantras.
Courses in Etiquette
Courses in etiquette, calligraphy, gardening, cooking, budgeting, and many other life skills will be mandatory for every young lady that has joined Brought Up Bougie. Certificates are given for every course completed.
Annual Weekend Retreat
The retreat is an outdoor "glamping" adventure in Rockford's State Park. We will have RV’s as well as tents and the ladies will take this time to sing, laugh, meditate, and enjoy the bonds they have created. Enjoying the divinity of nature in process.
